  • Contract - Install drainage at the cemetery

After a competitive tendering exercise we were awarded the contract to install a comprehensive new drainage system at the prestigious American Cemetery in Cambridge. Approximately 9,000m of land drains were installed in gentle curves running between the headstones  - a gap of only 9'. We adapted one of our trenchers to enable it to work between the headstones and utilised narrow dumpers fitted with LGP tyres to cart the spoil away and place the gravel. All turf was lifted, stored and then re-laid over the completed drains as work proceeded to provide a clean and tidy finish to the site and enable completed areas to be made available to visitors as quickly as possible.
