  • Contract - Construction of training pitches and 3G pitch

We were contracted by the Club to reconstruct the old Syngenta sports ground on Leeds Road, Huddersfield. Phase 1 of the works involved the pipe and slit drainage of the "canal" pitches on the other side of the canal. Other works were carried out to erect security fencing around the pitches and construct access paths.

Phase 2of the works involved the complete reconstruction of the existing soil based pitches. The existing topsoil was removed, the site regraded, irrigation system installed, pipe drained and then a gravel carpet before returning the preserved topsoil.

Additional surface drains were installed in the form of gravel bands and heavy sand amelioration of the topsoil was carried out to provide a free draining playing surface. Additional works were carried out to install perimeter paths, fencing and planting.

Phase 3 involved the construction of a full size 3g training pitch to Fifa 1* on an engineered base with balls top fencing to the perimeter and floodlighting.

Whilst on site we also reconstructed the rear bowling green and created additional parking areas.

The Club now has a state of the art facility ......
